A workshop to train 40 males and  females on the skills of communication for development



The Communication for Development workshop continuous to take place in Sa'ada city as part of NFDHR WASH and C4D integrated interventions in Sa'ada governorate funded by UNICEF.
 
The workshop aims to define the concepts of volunteerism for 40 female and male volunteers of the community leaders and social figures, and train them on the skills of communication for development so as to participate in developing their communities.
 
In the 5 days workshop that started Saturday, March 30th, 2018, the trainees are to be trained in all health and social awareness messages included in the national community awareness guide in which the trainees will use to as to raise awareness among their communities, especially those messages about disease prevention methods such as cholera, diphtheria and measles, behavioural change promotion with regard to sanitational practices, water conservation and means of storing, purifying, and chlorinating it, and personal hygiene, in addition to other awareness messages that promotes health care for mothers and children.
 
The trainees will be introduced to the community awareness program that encourages and motivates the community to educate children and register them in schools as well as those children who were forced to stop attending schools. The program also includes encouraging girls to attend schools and the importance of providing an alternative, safe locations instead of the damaged schools.
